Liposuction

Liposuction

Liposuction works on the same principle for all methods: Fat tissue is selectively loosened under the skin and sucked out with a fine cannula during the procedure. Problem areas are specifically addressed in order to bring the body into the desired shape. The procedure can produce excellent results, especially in the case of localized fat deposits on the hips, abdomen, legs, and upper body.
Our doctors for aesthetic surgery use gentle vibration suction for liposuction: The cannula vibrates to gently remove excess fat from the tissue and then suction it off during vibration-assisted liposuction (VAL).
Liposuction is commonly used to treat the outer thighs ("saddlebags"), as well as fat pads on the stomach, back, and waist ("lifebuoys").

Frequently Asked Questions

No, because liposuction does not substitute for proper nutrition, which is required for a healthy body. Please contact us to learn more about your options.
Approximately 7-8 litres of fat can be suctioned in one session.
Liposuction produces particularly good results in women on the inside and outside of the thighs. Furthermore, the hips and abdomen are two areas of the female body that can be successfully operated on. For men, the areas are similar. The abdomen, hips, and breasts are particularly well and successfully operated on. Gynecomastia (breast formation) occurs in men, which can be treated with liposuction.
The body region of the hips, in particular, stores the fat pads very stubbornly, making it difficult to lose weight in these areas in a targeted manner. Unfortunately, neither extensive exercise nor a healthy diet can help with hip fat deposits.
Several conditions must be met in order to achieve tissue tightening during liposuction. Tissue tightening is typically only possible in specific areas of the body, and the skin to be treated should be young and healthy. If these conditions are met, tissue tightening can be accomplished through the use of vibration technology and surface modelling.
Swelling and bruising are to be expected with liposuction, just as they are with any surgical procedure. After liposuction, you may also experience numbness in the treated areas. However, these are the most common post-liposuction side effects. Thrombosis, embolism, and bleeding are uncommon risks. It is also less common to discover asymmetries after liposuction that would necessitate additional surgery.
In general, the skin must be intact and as taut as possible prior to liposuction. Patients with sagging skin must undergo lifting surgery, which involves the use of a scalpel. It is also possible to combine lifting and liposuction. Liposuction has little effect on weight loss; the weight difference after liposuction is negligible.
