A breast lift (mastopexy) is a surgical operation that tightens and lifts drooping breasts that have lost elasticity and volume due to weight loss, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or the natural aging process. Breast augmentation with implants may be performed depending on the amount of the sagging breasts.

The breast lift procedure is painless because it is done under sedation and local anaesthetic. You will, however, experience pain for a few days, akin to severe muscle soreness. You can, however, use medicines if necessary to alleviate the discomfort.
In addition to wearing a support bra for six weeks, you should sleep on your back as much as possible and avoid exercise. Lifting heavy objects and engaging in other strenuous physical activities should also be avoided. It is recommended to avoid UV radiation (sunbathing, sunbeds) for a year following the surgery, or to shield the operated region adequately, in order to encourage complete wound healing and scar fading.
You are socially acceptable again two to three days following a breast lift. After the operation, you should be able to return to work in two weeks.
